Preventing hot car deaths as we approach summer
Did you know that on average, 37 children die each year in this country as a result of heat stroke related to being in a hot car?
Consumer Reports warns that this is a year-round concern. It’s even more of a concern now that the weather in Los Angeles and Southern California is getting warmer as we approach summer.
This week, I myself experienced how hot a car can get while parked in the sun. The photo attached to this article is a screenshot from my Tesla app. While the weather was only 87 degrees outside, the interior of my car reached a scorching 154 degrees.
Please accept this public service announcement: Always check the back seat for toddlers or children before leaving your car. The same goes for pets. Unless you drive a Tesla that has dog mode, do not leave your pets in the car.
Enjoy the warmer SoCal weather, and be safe!
