Studio City high school student dies in tragic carpool collision

This past week, a 15-year-old Los Angeles high school student was killed in a terrible tragedy.

At Campbell Hall school in Studio City, the 15-year-old was pinned between two cars in the carpool pickup line. Classes have been cancelled as the school community mourns this horrific tragedy.

The student’s name has not been released. You can read more about this incident here.

To be honest, I have long thought about how chaotic carpool time is. Kids are out and about. Traffic is snaked around surrounding residential areas, usually stop and go, causing frustration to non-school drivers just trying to get to their destination. Children of all ages are getting into or out of cars. Often, school officials become overwhelmed just trying to dismiss their students in a safe and effective manner.

All it takes is one distracted driver to cause a mess. One tiny little mishap can cascade into a horrible tragedy.

Please be careful when you are dropping off or picking up children at the school carpool line.

Wishing the utmost peace and comfort to the bereaved Studio City family.
