Did you get a Hertz rental car ticket that Hertz won’t give you a copy of ?

Did you receive a notice of violation from your Hertz rental car? Did Hertz rental car charge you an outrageous “administrative fee” to process your alleged violation?

Recently, a new trend is developing among rental car companies. Rental car companies are looking for ways to generate more revenue. We’re talking even more than what they are charging you to rent their cars and all the ridiculous add-ons that they try to sell you.

Rental car companies are now tacking on "administrative fees” to your alleged traffic violations, and sometimes these fees are more than the actual tickets themselves.

In many scenarios, Hertz rental car will send you a “notice of violation” and won’t share a copy of the alleged violation with you, the consumer. Hertz claims that they pay the fees to avoid “penalties and potential vehicle seizure.”

This is unacceptable. If the Government alleges that you committed a traffic violation, you have a right to see what charges have been made against you.

In our experience, Hertz just pays the fines and charges your credit card on file for reimbursement, adding on the ridiculous “administrative fees" that nobody understands. Essentially, Hertz forces you to plead guilty to whatever traffic citation was given and forces you to give up your right to contest the violation.

Hertz claims this is all covered in the “rental car agreement” that nobody actually reads.

If you were charged an “administrative fee” along with your “notice of traffic violation”, feel free to contact my office.

Whether you rented a car with Hertz, Avis, Enterprise, Budget, or any other rental car company, if you received a letter from ATS Processing Services for an alleged notification of traffic violation, you may have rights that were violated by Hertz or other rental car companies.

My office is seriously looking into this matter.
